David Unger was born in Guatemala in 1950, grew up in Florida and now makes New York City his home. Known as a poet and a translator, he has had work published in numerous journals and anthologies. His most recent publication is Nicanor Parra's Antipoems: New and selected (New York: New Directions, 1985), which he edited and co-translated.
Currently he is a member of Teachers & Writers Collaborative and co-directs the Latin American Book Fair in New York City.
