David Vela, editor of the extinct newspaper "El Imparcial", had a fascination with the marimba and collected articles and references through the years, many of them from his own newspaper. These were translated and edited for this book.
Vida Chenoweth is a professional marimba player who made her debut in Chicago in 1956 and was the first to perform polyphonic music on the marimba. A longtime music professor at Wheaton College, Illinois, she also spent 13 years as a Wycliffe Bible Translator in the Territory of New Guinea. In 1985 she was inducted into the Oaklahoma Hall of Fame for her contribution to music.
